After dealing with all this BS and my back not getting any bit better but getting worse and our PA not giving a rats ass, I’m gonna attempt to terminate my Airborne status. I’ve come to realize that the extra $150 dollars you get a month is not worth it one bit. After seeing a friend die, and seeing all these injuries and how much our medics “care” I’m doing it for myself. I want to be able to hold my daughter and run with her when she’s older. It was fun being airborne but to keep on doing it really is just so much wear and tear on your body. To put it in perspective, jumping out of a plane and your parachute opening is the equivalence to the force on your body as a car accident. and the normal parachutes we use you fall about 20ft per second. Even a perfect landing and you’ll still feel it in the morning. It’s just not worth a measly $150 a month, I’d rather do something else to make that cash or not make that cash at all. I’d rather sacrifice a little bit of money than sacrifice my health and family time for a small amount of cash.
Why is it that people assume that people in the military are showered with money?
